"Although it is certainly my goal to provide effective representation and pertinent counsel to my clients, I appreciate and take great satisfaction in feedback from clients that my engagement has helped them to feel more confident and comfortable with meeting challenges that may have initially seemed daunting.”
James Jennings joined Bellinger & DeWolf LLP in 1998, leaving Greco Johnson Rerko, LLP of Dallas, Texas. Starting in 2004, Jennings opened an office for Bellinger & DeWolf in San Antonio, Texas, to create a presence for clients in South Texas, while continuing to maintain his extensive relationships with, and serve clients in, North Texas and outside of Texas. Jennings' practice is divided evenly between commercial litigation and representation of police and fire personnel of the City of Dallas and surrounding municipalities. Currently, Jennings’ commercial practice includes extensive creditor representation, to include litigating bankruptcy and receivership matters on behalf of commercial property owners, financial institutions and other corporate creditors.
Jennings earned his undergraduate degree from Abilene Christian University concurrent with training in the United States Army Reserve Officer Training Corps. He received an officer commission upon graduation and later served for three years with the United States Army Reserves.
While undertaking his legal studies, Jennings completed judicial internships with Justice John Cornyn of the Texas Supreme Court and the Honorable Orlando Garcia, United States District Court Judge for the Western District of Texas.
Jennings serves as one of the primary attorneys responsible for Bellinger & DeWolf’s representation of the Dallas Fraternal Order of Police and its more than 600 members.
